It is the mission of the Interstate Council on Water Policy (ICWP) to enhance the stewardship of the nation’s water resources by:

  • Serving as the national voice for water resource managers.
  • Providing a forum for the nationwide exchange of ideas and information and the communication of common concerns among many members.
  • Providing opportunities for members to meet with high-level federal agency officials and Congressional leaders.
  • Representing state, interstate, and other non-federal water resource interests before Congress and relevant federal agencies.
  • Playing a key role in the reformulation of national water policy.
  • Providing leadership to integrate diverse interests in water management to promote comprehensive approaches to state, interstate, and federal water policy making.
  • Encouraging and participating in the resolution of disputes in national water resource policy.
